We are delighted to share the wonderful news that Ruth Montgomery and Music of Life’s ‘Music for Deaf Children’ programme has won the award for Excellence in SEND, Music and Drama, at the Music and Drama Education Awards 2026.
The ceremony took place at the magnificent Connaught Rooms in London, where several hundred professionals from across the music and drama education sector gathered to celebrate outstanding achievement.
This award is a powerful recognition of the importance of ensuring that deaf children have meaningful access to music, creativity and self expression. Music can support confidence, communication, social connection and emotional development, and every child deserves the opportunity to experience and participate in it fully.
We are incredibly proud of Ruth, our practitioners Miriam Dubois and Rachel Edmonds, and of the transformative impact this programme continues to have, and we look forward to seeing its reach and reputation grow even further.
Thank you to the judges, and congratulations to all of our fellow nominees and winners.
